Akio OZ Oral Suspension belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat urinary tract infections, bacterial infections by inflammation of the peritoneum, eye and ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections, vaginal infections, protozoan infections, intra-abdominal infections, and infections during surgical procedures. It is also indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea of mixed infections in adults. Akio OZ Oral Suspension is a combination of two antibiotic drugs, namely: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, Akio OZ Oral Suspension helps in treating bacterial infections. Akio OZ Oral Suspension is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Akio OZ Oral Suspension may cause photosensitivity (sensitivity to sunlight) and can make you sunburn easily. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Always wear protective clothing and sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher before going out.

It is recommended to complete the course of Akio OZ Oral Suspension even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Akio OZ Oral Suspension for as long as your doctor has prescribed it.

Co-administration of magnesium and aluminium-containing antacids, sucralfate, and iron-containing preparations with Akio OZ Oral Suspension may reduce the absorption. Therefore, you are advised to take Akio OZ Oral Suspension two hours before such preparations.

Do not take Akio OZ Oral Suspension on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.
