Composition:
CEFUROXIME-125MG + CLAVULANIC ACID-31.25MG
Uses:
Bacterial infections.
Medicinal Benefits:
Binex CV Dry Syrup belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (infection of the sinuses), gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), Lyme disease, septicaemia (bloodstream infection), meningitis (inflammation of the brain and spinal cord), lower respiratory tract, skin, urinary tract, bone, and joint infections. Binex CV Dry Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefuroxime (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefuroxime works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of cefuroxime against the bacteria. Together, Binex CV Dry Syrup helps to treat bacterial infections. Binex CV Dry Syrup is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including beta-lactamase-producing strains.

Diarrhoea might be a side-effect of Binex CV Dry Syrup. Drink lots of fluids and eat food rich in fibre if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience prolonged diarrhoea with abdominal pain, stop taking Binex CV Dry Syrup and consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Do not stop taking Binex CV Dry Syrup despite symptomatic relief. To treat your condition effectually continue taking Binex CV Dry Syrup for as long as it has been prescribed for you.
Do not take Binex CV Dry Syrup on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.
Avoid taking antacid medicines along with Binex CV Dry Syrup as reduced gastric acidity might lower the effectiveness of Binex CV Dry Syrup.
Binex CV Dry Syrup contains cefuroxime which might interfere with the effectiveness of oral contraceptives (birth control pills). Consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding this; your doctor may suggest an alternate method of contraception.
