Uses:
Bacterial infections
Medicinal Benefits:
CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefadroxil and Clavulanic acid. CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections such as urinary tract, skin, chest, and throat infections. Cefadroxil is a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Cefadroxil against the bacteria. Together, CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT helps to treat bacterial infections. CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT may cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD). Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience prolonged diarrhoea with abdominal pain, stop taking CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT and consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Do not stop taking CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT despite symptomatic relief. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT for as long as it has been prescribed for you. It is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).
Nausea could be a side-effect of CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT. Take CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT with food if you experience nausea. Stick to simple, bland foods and avoid spicy foods to cope with nausea.
Do not take CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Tablet DT on your own, as self-medication may lead to antibiotic resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.
