Cellol 5mg Injection belongs to the group of anti-hypertensive medicines called alpha and beta-blocking agents used to treat severe hypertension (high blood pressure). Additionally, Cellol 5mg Injection is used to treat severe hypertension of pregnancy (high blood pressure in pregnancy) and to control blood pressure during anaesthesia. Cellol 5mg Injection contains ‘labetalol’ that works by blocking the receptors in the cardiovascular (circulatory) system, this helps in decreasing the blood pressure in the blood vessels. Thereby, helping in lowering the blood pressure to normal.

Postural hypotension could be a side-effect of Cellol 5mg Injection. Postural hypotension is a sudden lowering in blood pressure leading to dizziness on standing. If you experience this, do not try to stand up suddenly or start walking, instead lie down and get up slowly only when you feel better.
Cellol 5mg Injection is used to treat severe hypertension of pregnancy (high blood pressure in pregnancy) when the blood pressure needs to be lowered rapidly.
Cellol 5mg Injection may cause erectile dysfunction (impotence). Please consult your doctor if you have any concerns regarding these.
Cellol 5mg Injection might mask the effects of sudden blood loss and might affect pupils during cataract surgery, so inform the surgeon ahead of time that you are on treatment with Cellol 5mg Injection if you are due to have surgery.
