Meconta-LC Tablet is used to treat nutritional deficiencies and contains Folic acid, L-carnitine, and Methylcobalamin. Folic acid helps in the formation of red blood cells and prevents DNA changes that may lead to cancer. It prevents and treats folate deficiency and hyperhomocysteinemia. L-carnitine is used to treat medical conditions of heart and blood vessels, failure to get pregnant, overactive thyroid, and other serious medical issues. It also helps the body to produce more amount of energy as it is necessary for the functioning of the heart and brain, muscle movements, and other body processes. Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin) regulates body functions, such as cell multiplication, blood formation, and protein synthesis. It is used in the treatment of alcoholic neuropathy, pernicious anaemia (red blood cells are not produced due to Vitamin B12 deficiency), diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to high blood sugar levels), and multiple sclerosis (immune system disease affecting the brain).

When you lack these vitamins in your body, which cannot be recovered even with the food sources, Meconta-LC Tablet helps in normalising these deficient levels. Collectively, Meconta-LC Tablet treats nutritional deficiencies.

Vitamin B12 deficiency is caused when you don't have enough Methylcobalamine or Mecobalmin levels in your body. You can include natural Vitamin B12 sources like eggs, beef, liver, chicken, trout, salmon, tuna fish, clams, fortified breakfast cereal, low-fat milk, yoghurt, and cheese in your diet for treating the deficiency. If you still have low levels of B12, please consult your doctor for its supplements.

Folate deficiency occurs when your body lacks adequate folic acid/folate levels. You can overcome this deficiency by including food sources rich in folic acid like broccoli, brussels sprouts, leafy green vegetables, cabbage, kale, spring greens, spinach, peas, chickpeas, kidney beans, liver (avoid this during pregnancy) and breakfast cereals fortified with folic acid. If your folic acid levels are still low, your doctor may advise its supplements.

It is important to tell your doctor if you have malabsorption syndrome (difficulty absorbing nutrition from food) since it may be hard to absorb vitamins through oral administration. Your doctor may advise other dosage forms of Meconta-LC Tablet in such a case.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and follow your usual dosage.
