Wayflox OZ Syrup belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat urinary tract infections, bacterial infections by inflammation of the peritoneum, eye and ear infections, skin and soft tissue infections, sexually transmitted infections, respiratory infections, vaginal infections, protozoan infections, intra-abdominal infections, and infections during surgical procedures. It is also indicated in the treatment of diarrhoea of mixed infections in adults. Wayflox OZ Syrup is a combination of two antibiotic drugs, namely: Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the replication, transcription, and repair of the DNA. Ornidazole inhibits protein synthesis and leads to cell death, thereby kills the bacteria. Together, Wayflox OZ Syrup helps in treating bacterial infections. Wayflox OZ Syrup is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.

Wayflox OZ Syrup contains Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin inhibits DNA gyrase which is required for the production of DNA replication, transcription, and repair. Wayflox OZ Syrup may cause photosensitivity (sensitivity to sunlight) and can make you sunburn easily. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight or tanning beds. Always wear protective clothing and sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher before going out.

It is recommended to complete the course of Wayflox OZ Syrup even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking Wayflox OZ Syrup for as long as your doctor has prescribed it.

Co-administration of magnesium and aluminium-containing antacids, sucralfate, and iron-containing preparations with Wayflox OZ Syrup may reduce the absorption. Therefore, you are advised to take Wayflox OZ Syrup two hours before such preparations.

Do not take Wayflox OZ Syrup on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections.

Consult your doctor before taking Wayflox OZ Syrup if you have diabetes, as Wayflox OZ Syrup may cause hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar levels). Regularly monitor blood sugar levels while taking Wayflox OZ Syrup to avoid unpleasant events.
