Acnewar Gel 15 gm belongs to the class of antibiotics used to treat acne (pimples). Acne is a skin condition that is common and occurs when hair follicles are blocked with dead skin cells and oil. The acne-causing bacteria feeds on sebum (natural oil produced by skin), causing redness and swelling.
Acnewar Gel 15 gm contains Dapsone (antibiotic) that works by inhibiting the production of folic acid (vitamin) necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby stops or slows down the growth of bacteria and clears acne.
Use Acnewar Gel 15 gm as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to use Acnewar Gel 15 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience bluish tinge to the skin, skin peeling, dry skin, itching, redness or oiliness of the skin. Most of these side effects of Acnewar Gel 15 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Dapsone or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. You are recommended to consult a doctor if you are breastfeeding or pregnant. If you get shortness of breath, weakness, back pain, tiredness, dark brown urine, fever, pale or yellow skin, stop using Acnewar Gel 15 gm and consult a doctor immediately as they might be symptoms of haemolytic anaemia (breakdown of red blood cells).
