Aerocort Rotacap is a combination medication used to treat asthma. Asthma is a respiratory condition caused by hypersensitive airways, which become inflamed, swollen and filled with mucous, making breathing difficult. Symptoms include shortness of breath, wheezing, and cough.

Aerocort Rotacap contains Beclomethasone dipropionate (corticosteroid) and Levosalbutamol sulphate (bronchodilator). Beclomethasone dipropionate works by preventing the release of certain chemicals in the body that cause inflammatory reactions. Levosalbutamol sulphate works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs. Thereby, Aerocort Rotacap makes breathing easier.

Use Aerocort Rotacap as prescribed. In some cases, Aerocort Rotacap may cause certain common side effects such as thrush, hoarseness of voice and headache. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or worsen.

Inform the doctor if you are allergic to any of the components in Aerocort Rotacap . Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Aerocort Rotacap is not recommended for children below 4years. Talk to your doctor before taking alcohol with Aerocort Rotacap as there may be an interaction. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed of your entire medical history, including any use of antidepressants, anti-asthma drugs, corticosteroids, beta-blockers for blood pressure or diuretics/water tablets.

• Invest in good hygiene and relaxation techniques.
• Maintain a healthy body weight by exercising for at least 30 minutes every day. However, do not overexert yourself.
• Avoid tobacco use.
• Practise good oral hygiene.
• Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to strengthen your breathing muscles and boost your immune system.
