About Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml

Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections. Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml contains Sulfacetamide­ which works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow and multiply. Thereby, Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml stops the growth of bacteria causing an eye infection.

Use Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml is for ophthalmic  (eye) use only. You are advised to use Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience mild burning, irritation, itching, stinging or redness of the eyes. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if these side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Sulfacetamide, any other medicines, foods, dyes or preservatives, please inform your doctor. Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml should be used for children only if advised by your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your doctor before using Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml. Drive only if your vision is clear as eye ointment may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using it. Directions for Use

Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml is for ophthalmic use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml.Eye drops: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use.Eye ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Squeeze a tiny amount of the ointment into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes.

Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight

Do not touch the tip of the container to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Albucid 10% Eye Drops 10 ml and cause eye infections. Do not use eye drops if the seal around the cap is broken, if the solution is discoloured (dark brown), if the bottle or packaging shows tampering signs, or if the bottle has passed the expiry date. Discard it after 4 weeks of opening the bottle.
