About Aloja 25 Tablet
Aloja 25 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called anti-diabetic drugs used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, especially in patients whose blood sugar levels are not controlled by diet and exercise alone. Aloja 25 Tablet may be used alone or in combination with other medicines. Type 2 diabetes is a chronic (long-lasting) condition that affects the way the body processes glucose. People with type 2 diabetes either do not produce enough insulin, or the insulin produced is unable to perform its function in the body (insulin resistance).
Aloja 25 Tablet contains Alogliptin that works by binding to the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) enzyme in the body and prevents the breakdown of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP) hormones that control blood sugar levels. Thereby increasing the levels of these two hormones. GLP-1 and GIP are released after a meal and stimulate the production of insulin (the main hormone that controls blood sugar levels) by the pancreas when the glucose levels are high in the blood. Also, GLP-1 decreases glucagon (hormone that increases sugar production by the liver) production. Thus, Aloja 25 Tablet helps in controlling blood sugar levels.
