About Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet

Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet is a respiratory combination medication primarily used to treat cough associated with respiratory disorders like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD). Asthma is a breathing problem in which airways narrow, swell, and produce extra mucus, leading to difficulty breathing. COPD is a group of lung diseases with emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes). Coughing occurs as a reflex action in the throat when there is mucus or any other foreign irritant in it.

The Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet consists of two medicines: Roxithromycin (antibiotic) and Ambroxol (dilutes viscous cough). Roxithromycin comes into the category of antibiotic medicines that stop bacterial growth by inhibiting the protein synthesis process required for bacterial cell growth. As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow. It is a bacteriostatic antibiotic, i.e. it stops bacteria's growth but does not necessarily kill them. On the other hand, Ambroxol is an 'expectorant' (promotes the secretion of sputum/cough) and 'mucolytic agent' (makes sputum less viscous) to make breathing easier in asthma, and COPD patients who have difficulty in breathing.

Take Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet preferably with food to avoid stomach upset and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. Your doctor will recommend how often you take Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet based on your medical condition. Some people may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, taste disturbance, stomach pain, and allergic reaction. Most of these side effects of Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Before using Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet tell your doctor if you ever had an allergy to Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet, have kidney problems, liver problems, heart disease, peptic or duodenal ulcers. Please do not drink alcohol with Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet as it may increase the unpleasant side effects like drowsiness, and dizziness. Alrox M 150mg/30mg Tablet is not recommended in the first three months of pregnancy, and also breastfeeding women should not take it.
