Amfy Gel 15 gm

Amfy Gel belongs to a class of medicines called 'antifungals' used to treat fungal skin infections. Also, Amfy Gel is used to treat diaper rash and bed sores. A fungal infection is a disease in which fungi attack the tissue and cause infection. Fungi are commonly present in nature but do not cause infections normally.

Amfy Gel contains Amphotericin B, which kills fungi by destroying the fungal outer cell membrane. The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stop the leakage of cell contents.

Use Amfy Gel as advised by the doctor. Amfy Gel is only for external use. Sometimes, you may experience itching, irritation, redness or burning sensation at the application site. Most of these side effects of Amfy Gel do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Amphotericin B or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Amfy Gel should be used with caution in children and the elderly if advised by a doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Amfy Gel. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with airtight dressings or bandages unless advised by a doctor. Do not use Amfy Gel in more than prescribed doses or for prolonged periods as it may cause adverse effects.

In case of accidental swallowing of Amfy Gel, contact a doctor immediately. You are recommended not to touch or scratch the infected skin areas as it may spread or worsen the infection.

• Wash your hands regularly and keep your hands clean to prevent the spread of germs.
• Avoid dusty activities and digging in the soil.
• Wear shoes, a long-sleeved t-shirt and long pants while doing outdoor activities such as yard work, gardening or visiting wooded areas to protect from fungus commonly present in the environment.
• Maintain a diet that is low in sugar, refined carbohydrates, mould-containing foods and yeast.

Fungal infection: It is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and causes infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another). Ringworm is a common fungal infection of the skin or scalp that is contagious and causes a rash resembling a worm in a ring shape. Jock itch (also known as tinea cruris) is a fungal skin infection that causes an itchy, red rash in moist and warm areas of the body, such as the groin, buttocks and inner thighs. An athlete’s foot (tinea pedis) is a fungal infection that usually starts between the toes, especially in people with extremely sweaty feet and tight-fitting shoes. It occurs most commonly in athletes. It causes itching, burning or stinging sensation due to a scaly rash.
