About Amgest 100mg Injection

Amgest 100mg Injection belongs to the class of medicines known as hormones used as hormone replacement therapy in menopausal women who have not had a hysterectomy (surgery to remove the uterus). Amgest 100mg Injection is also used to treat periods/menstruation in women of childbearing age who have not reached menopause but stopped having periods. It is also used to treat endometrial hyperplasia and female infertility.

Amgest 100mg Injection contains progesterone which is a female hormone. It helps regulate ovulation and menstruation in women. Amgest 100mg Injection induces secretory changes in the endometrium lining of the uterus, promotes breast development, relaxes the uterus, blocks the maturation and release of a follicle, and maintains pregnancy.

Amgest 100mg Injection will be administered by a trained healthcare professional; hence do not self-administer. This medicine may cause certain side effects such as dizziness, headache, mood changes, constipation, diarrhea, bloating, heartburn, and injection site reactions. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor immediately.

FAQs

Amgest 100mg Injection induces secretory changes in the endometrium lining of the uterus, promotes breast development, relaxes the uterus, blocks the maturation and release of a follicle and maintains pregnancy.

Do not use Amgest 100mg Injection if you are allergic to peanuts, have unusual vaginal bleeding, have had any cancer (breast or uterus cancer), or undergoing estrogen plus progestin treatment. Tell your doctor before using Amgest 100mg Injection if you had a heart attack, stroke, blood clot, kidney/liver problems, are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to get pregnant or are allergic to Amgest 100mg Injection.

Amgest 100mg Injection helps in preparing the endometrium potential for pregnancy after ovulation. It thickens the lining of the endometrium to accept a fertilized egg. It also prevents muscle contractions of the uterus that would reject an egg in the uterus.

Abnormal uterine bleeding, irregular or missed periods (amenorrhea), abdominal pain during pregnancy, and frequent miscarriages are the signs of low progesterone. Additionally, low progesterone levels lead to high levels of estrogen, and women can have decreased sex drive, weight gain, or gallbladder problems.

Special Advise

  • If you are scheduled for any laboratory tests, tell your health care professional that you are on treatment with Amgest 100mg Injection.
  • Amgest 100mg Injection is a parenteral form. It will be administered by your doctor, do not self-administer.
