Amicolon Sachet 1 gm may also be used for acne, antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea, Helicobacter pylori infection, traveller’s diarrhoea, diarrhoea in people with HIV/AIDS, and necrotising enterocolitis (a serious intestinal disease in premature infants).
 
Amicolon Sachet 1 gm contains ‘Saccharomyces boulardii’, a friendly micro-organism that helps fight disease-causing organisms in the gut, such as yeast and bacteria. Thereby, Amicolon Sachet 1 gm helps in treating diarrhoea. Amicolon Sachet 1 gm helps restore the balance of intestinal bacterial flora and strengthens immunity and overall gut health.
 
You are advised to take Amicolon Sachet 1 gm for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending on your medical condition. Amicolon Sachet 1 gm is generally safe and does not cause any side effects. Sometimes, it may cause gas, bloating, and constipation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. Talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

• Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated.
• Include bland foods such as bananas, rice, apples, cream of wheat, soda crackers, farina, applesauce, and toast to avoid aggravating the digestive system.
• Avoid eating foods such as milk, dairy products, spicy foods, processed foods, pork, veal, sardines, raw vegetables, rhubarb, onions, corn, citrus fruits, alcohol, pineapples, cherries, seeded berries, grapes, caffeinated and carbonated drinks. 
• Eat fibre-rich food such as whole grains, lentils, beans, broccoli, and peas.
• Wash your hands thoroughly before eating while preparing or serving food.

Diarrhoea: Diarrhoea is the condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterised by loose and watery stools. Diarrhoea could be acute or chronic.
