Amlo-5 Tablet 15's belongs to a class of medicines called calcium channel blockers which are primarily taken for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and angina (chest pain). Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a lifelong or chronic condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery walls becomes high. Higher this blood pressure, harder the heart has to pump. 

Amlo-5 Tablet 15's contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker that acts by relaxing the blood vessels. This reduces the workload on the heart and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. Thus, it helps to lower high blood pressure, reducing the chances of heart attack or stroke.

Take Amlo-5 Tablet 15's with or without food as prescribed by your doctor with a full glass of water. Amlo-5 Tablet 15's may be prescribed alone or in combination with other blood pressure lowering medicines depending upon your blood pressure levels. Inform your doctor if you are taking any other anti-hypertensive medicine. Inform your doctor if you have had an allergic reaction to Amlo-5 Tablet 15's, are pregnant or are planning to get pregnant, are breastfeeding, have liver disease, kidney disease, heart failure, heart valve problem or history of heart attack.

Amlo-5 Tablet 15's is used to treat heart-related conditions like angina (chest pain) and high blood pressure (hypertension). It is a calcium channel blocker that inhibits the entry of calcium (ions) across the heart that relaxes and widens the smooth muscles for better blood flow. Amlo-5 Tablet 15's should not be given to the people allergic to Amlo-5 Tablet 15's, have low blood pressure (less than 90 mm of Hg), have had heart attack, kidney disease, liver disease, pregnant women or planning to get pregnant and breastfeeding women without the prescription of a doctor. Besides this, it is contraindicated in patients with aortic stenosis (heart valve problem). Amlo-5 Tablet 15's can pass into breast milk, but its effect on the baby is not known. So, it is better to tell your doctor if you are taking Amlo-5 Tablet 15's and breastfeeding. 

• Keep your weight under control with BMI 19.5-24.9.
• Do regular physical activity or exercise for at least 150 minutes per week, or about 30 minutes most days of the week. Doing this can help you to lower your raised blood pressure by about 5 mm of Hg.
• Opt for diet rich in whole grains, fruits, veggies and low-fat dairy products.
• Limit intake of sodium chloride (table salt) in your daily diet to 2300 mg per day or less than 1500 mg is ideal for most adults.
• If you are taking alcohol then only one serving for women and two servings for men is advisable.
• Quitting smoking is the best strategy to lower the risk of heart disease.
• Avoid chronic stress as it can raise your blood pressure. Try to enjoy and spent time with your loved ones to cope with stress and practice mindfulness techniques.
• Monitor your blood pressure daily and if there is too much of fluctuation then immediately contact your doctor.
• Try to include heart healthy omega 3 fatty acid containing food drinks in your daily diet. You can also use low fat cooking oil like olive oil, soybean oil, canola oil and coconut oil can help in lowering your elevated blood pressure.

• Amlo-5 Tablet 15's is generally advised for treatment of high blood pressure and other heart conditions.
• Amlo-5 Tablet 15's should be taken at the same time every day for its maximum effects to be seen and for increased compliance.
• Consumption of Amlo-5 Tablet 15's may cause dizziness. Avoid activities like driving while on this medication.
• Sudden drop of blood pressure may be seen while on this medication which might lead to dizziness. Changing your posture at a slower rate might help counter this. 
• Ankle swelling is a sometimes seen as a side effect with this drug. Consult your doctor if this or other side effects cause trouble or are persistent.
