About Amrox-L Drops

Amrox-L Drops is a cough suppressant medicine. It is used to treat cough. It helps provides relief from cough associated with mucus, chest congestion and stuffy nose caused due to common cold and flu. Coughing can be defined as the body's way of clearing irritants like allergens, mucus or smoke from the airways. Cough can be described as two types, namely: dry cough and wet cough. A dry cough is a non-productive cough that is tickly and doesn't produce any mucus. A wet cough (chesty cough) is a productive cough that produces mucous or sputum.

Amrox-L Drops is a combination medicine containing Ambroxol (mucolytic agent), Guaiphenesin (expectorant) and Levosalbutamol (bronchodilators). Ambroxol works by thinning and loosening phlegm (mucus) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose and thus helps to cough out phlegm easily. Guaiphenesin increases the volume of fluid in the airways and helps to remove it from the airways. Levosalbutamol works by relaxing muscles and widening the airways of the lungs.

Amrox-L Drops may cause certain side effects in your child such as nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhoea and stomach upset. These side effects do not require medical attention. However, if these side effects worsen, please consult your paediatrician. Amrox-L Drops should be given as advised by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose to the child. Amrox-L Drops can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your pediatrician depending on your child’s condition.

Amrox-L Drops is intended for paediatric use only. Avoid giving Amrox-L Drops to your child if they are allergic to any of the components present in the formulation. Keep your doctor informed about your child’s health condition including his current medications and medical history to rule out any side effects/interactions. Before administration, inform your paediatrician if your child has any liver or kidney disease.
