About Andol LA Injection 1 ml

Andol LA Injection 1 ml belongs to the class of drugs called antipsychotics used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Also, it is used to control motor and speech tics of Tourette’s disorder. Schizophrenia affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly. Tourette's syndrome is a mental disorder characterized by uncontrollable, repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics). 

Andol LA Injection 1 ml contains Haloperidol which blocks the dopamine receptors in the brain, preventing its overactivity, thereby controlling psychotic illnesses and improving disturbed thoughts, behaviour and feelings in mental conditions such as schizophrenia.

Andol LA Injection 1 ml will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. Sometimes, Andol LA Injection 1 ml may cause common side effects such as drowsiness, tremors, neck stiffness, nausea or vomiting, increased salivation, and weight gain. Most of these side effects of Andol LA Injection 1 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Haloperidol or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before receiving Andol LA Injection 1 ml. Andol LA Injection 1 ml is not recommended for children. Dose adjustment may be required for elderly or physically unwell patients. Avoid driving until your doctor says it is safe, as Andol LA Injection 1 ml may impair your physical or mental abilities required for driving. You are recommended to avoid alcohol consumption with Andol LA Injection 1 ml as it may increase the effects of alcohol.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Limit the intake of caffeine as it may reduce the effectiveness of Andol LA Injection 1 ml.
  • Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Eat more fish, especially oily fish such as salmon, sardines, trout, mackerel, pilchards and herring.
  • Cut down on sugars, salt and saturated fats.
  • Drink adequate water to keep the body hydrated.
  • Exercise regularly and maintain a stable weight as Andol LA Injection 1 ml may cause weight gain.
  • Avoid the consumption of alcohol as it may increase drowsiness.
