About Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution

Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution are primarily used to treat dry eyes. Dry eye(s) is a condition in which the eye fails to make enough tears to coat it, which exposes the cornea and conjunctiva (outer coverings of the eye) to evaporation and subsequent damage.

Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution is a combination of three drugs: Hypromellose, Glycerin and Dextran. Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution is a slightly viscous solution that acts as an eye lubricant, also known as artificial tears. It works similar to natural tears and provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort due to the eye's dryness by maintaining proper lubrication of the eyes and acting as a protectant against further irritation.

Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution is for external (eyes) use only. You are advised to use this medicine for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending upon your medical condition. The most common side effects are irritation, pain, blurred vision. They do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. 

Before using Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution, tell your doctor, if you are allergic to any one of the medicine components and wash your hands before using the eye drops to avoid contamination. Do not touch the bottle's tip to avoid contamination and replace the cap tightly after each use. Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution are for external use only. Never encourage self-medication or suggest your medicine to someone else. Remove contact lenses before using this medicine. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery after using this medicine as it may cause blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

Uses of Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution

Directions for Use

Wash your hands thoroughly before and after use. Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Do not touch the tip of the dropper as it may contaminate the contents. Do not place the tip directly into the eye while instilling the drop. If the dropper touches the eye, immediately squeeze two to three drops onto the tissue and wipe the dropper’s tip with water. Discard any unused medicine after completing the course of therapy or within 4 weeks after opening the bottle.

Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution is available for external use only in the form of eye drops. You should take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. It is for external use only and use before the expiration date. Do not change or stop the dose of medicine without informing your doctor. Do not drive or use machinery or perform any activity until your vision is clear as Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution causes temporary blurred vision. Do not use Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution with contact lenses. If usage of contact lenses is allowed, remove them before administration of the medicine and you can reinsert the contact lenses 10 to 15 minutes post-administration.

Better to apply the Aquaray-Forte Ophthalmic Solution first, because ointments do not allow the eyedrops into the eye. If ointment is applied first, eye drops will drain from the eye.
