About BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML

BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML belongs to the class of ophthalmic medications called ‘fluoroquinolone antibiotics' primarily used to treat bacterial infections, including conjunctivitis/pink eye. Conjunctivitis is the infection of the outer white membrane of the eyeball. This infection is highly contagious and can pass from one person to another. Signs and symptoms include pink/red-toned eyes, gritty feeling in eyes, itchiness in areas of eyes, teary eyes and thick discharge around eyes.

BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML contains Besifloxacin, which helps treat and prevent a wide range of bacterial infections. It kills bacteria (bactericidal action) by preventing the synthesis of enzymes, namely DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, which is essential for the growth and survival of the bacterial cell. BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity against aerobic gram-positive and aerobic gram-negative bacteria (that live in oxygen).

BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML is available for ophthalmic use only in eye drops. You are advised to take BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects, such as eye irritation, eye redness, pain during administration, and blurred vision. Most of these side effects of BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML on your own, as self-medication may lead to antibiotic resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. You should not wear contact lenses while you have symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis or while you are applying BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML. Consult your doctor before taking BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML should be used with caution in children. It is not recommended for use in newborns. BESIVANCE EYE DROPS 5ML may cause temporary vision problems (blurred vision), so be cautious while driving and operating machinery.
