Buscogast Tablet 10's

Buscogast Tablet 10's belongs to a group of medicines called anti-spasmodic agents used to relieve abdominal and irritable bowel syndrome pain, cramps, and discomfort. It may also be used for diagnostic and therapeutic medical procedures where spasms might be a problem, such as gastroduodenal endoscopy, and to produce smooth muscle relaxation prior to radiological procedures like pyelography.

Buscogast Tablet 10's contains ‘Hyoscine butylbromide’ that stops muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Thereby providing relief from cramps, discomfort, and pain.

Take Buscogast Tablet 10's as prescribed. In some cases, Buscogast Tablet 10's may cause side-effects such as dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, abnormal/reduced sweating, and fast heart rate. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Do not take Buscogast Tablet 10's if you are pregnant, likely to get pregnant, or breastfeeding. Buscogast Tablet 10's may cause blurred vision, so drive only if you are alert. Buscogast Tablet 10's is not recommended for children below 6years as the safety and effectiveness have not been established. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.

Besides this, Buscogast Tablet 10's is also used to treat stomach pain, intestinal cramps, bladder cramps, and period pain. Buscogast Tablet 10's stops the muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Thereby providing relief from cramps, discomfort, and pain.

• Dry mouth

Do not take Buscogast Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have glaucoma, myasthenia gravis (muscle problems), blockage of the bowel, paralytic/obstructive ileus, or enlarged bowel. Inform your doctor if you have severe constipation, blood in stools, loss of appetite, difficulty passing urine, fever, fast heart rate, severe sweating problem, or if you are 40years or above. Do not take Buscogast Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Buscogast Tablet 10's may cause blurred vision, so drive only if you are alert. Buscogast Tablet 10's is not recommended for children below 6 years as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Stop taking Buscogast Tablet 10's and consult your doctor immediately if you observe blood in stools, changes in bowel movements, abdominal tenderness, low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, and fever.

Drug-Drug Interactions: Buscogast Tablet 10's may interact with anti-emetic (domperidone, metoclopramide), bronchodilator (salbutamol), anti-arrhythmic (quinidine, disopyramide), anti-Parkinson (amantadine), anti-cholinergic (tiotropium, ipratropium), anti-psychotic (haloperidol, fluphenazine), opiate analgesic (codeine), anti-depressant (amitriptyline), and antihistamines.

Drug-Disease Interactions: Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, myasthenia gravis (muscle problems), blockage of the bowel, paralytic/obstructive ileus, and enlarged bowel.

• Eat smaller meals more often.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
• Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
• Avoid carbonated and caffeinated beverages.
• Practice relaxation techniques and avoid stress by doing yoga or meditation.
• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea, and soda. 
• Avoid deep-fried and spicy foods.
• Foods containing probiotics may help in providing relief from gas and bloating.

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): Irritable bowel syndrome is a gastrointestinal disorder that mainly affects the large intestine. IBS is also known as spastic colon, irritable colon, spastic colitis, and mucous colitis. It is a group of intestinal symptoms that occur together. The exact cause is unknown, but common causes of IBS are acidity, stress, carbonated foods and beverages, irregular hormone levels, eating/drinking habits, food allergies and intolerances, certain food and medications. Symptoms include abdominal pain, cramps, bloating, gas, constipation, and/or diarrhoea. 

Abdominal pain and cramps: Abdominal pain occurs between the chest and pelvic region, generally known as stomach or tummy pain. The common causes of abdominal pain include inflammation, infections, intestinal disorders and obstruction/blockage.
