Caldob Cream 30 gm

Caldob Cream 30 gm belongs to a class of medications called anorectal preparations primarily used in the treatment of haemorrhoids (piles). It helps in relieving itching, pain, swelling and discomfort caused by piles and other problems in the anal area. Haemorrhoids are also known as piles, a medical condition that occurs when veins present in the anus and rectum area (the last part of the large intestine that ends up in the anus) swell and become painful.

Caldob Cream 30 gm contains calcium dobesilate (vasoprotective agent), hydrocortisone (steroid), lignocaine (local anaesthetic) and zinc (astringent). Calcium dobesilate acts on the walls of small blood vessels and reduces their delicacy and leakage. Also, it improves blood flow by reducing the thickness of blood and helps in relieving redness and swelling in piles. Hydrocortisone inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling caused due to piles. Lignocaine decreases pain sensation by preventing the transmission of pain signals from nerves to the brain.  Zinc acts as an astringent (shrink pores and absorbs excess oils) and antiseptic.

Caldob Cream 30 gm is for external use only. Use Caldob Cream 30 gm as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to use Caldob Cream 30 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience itching, redness or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Caldob Cream 30 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Caldob Cream 30 gm or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before taking Caldob Cream 30 gm. Please do not cover the treated area with any bandages unless advised by your doctor, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects. Avoid using Caldob Cream 30 gm in large amounts or for a longer time than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but increases the risk of side effects. Do not swallow Caldob Cream 30 gm. In case of accidental swallowing, please consult a doctor immediately.

Avoid contact of Caldob Cream 30 gm with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case Caldob Cream 30 gm comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before taking Caldob Cream 30 gm. Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have kidney or liver disease, eye problems, chickenpox, tuberculosis, fungal infection, herpes, rectal sores, stomach or intestinal problems, diabetes or blood disorders, inform your doctor before taking Caldob Cream 30 gm.

• Drink plenty of fluids to prevent constipation.
• Take fibre supplements and fibre-rich foods such as raw fruits and vegetables.
• Take a sitz bath (a warm water bath covering hips and buttocks) to relax anal muscles. It helps increase blood flow to the anorectal area and relieves irritation. 
• Avoid straining during bowel movements as it may create pressure and lead to the opening of healing tears or cause a new tear.

Haemorrhoids: They are also known as piles, a medical condition that occurs when veins present in the anus and rectum area (the last part of the large intestine that ends up in the anus) swell and become painful. Piles can be either internal or external. Internal haemorrhoids occur within the rectum, as the rectum area has fewer pain receptors, it is less troublesome, and painful. External haemorrhoids occur at the outside of the anus and are most painful. Some of the common symptoms of haemorrhoids are itching, pain, swelling, and trouble sitting. If proper treatment is not provided at the right time, haemorrhoids become irritated and cause bleeding.
