Canesten V6 Tablet belongs to the class of medications known as antifungals, primarily used to treat vaginal thrush (candidiasis). Vaginal thrush (candidiasis) is an infection of the vagina and/or vulva caused by candida.

Canesten V6 Tablet comprises clotrimazole that works by destroying the fungus that causes the infection. Canesten V6 Tablet eliminates the infection by causing holes in the fungal cell membrane and allows the components to leak out, thus killing the fungus.

Use Canesten V6 Tablet as recommended by the physician. In some cases, Canesten V6 Tablet may cause abdominal pain, vulvovaginal pain, nausea, and application site reactions including itching, burning sensation, and irritation. These side effects of Canesten V6 Tablet eventually subside without medical intervention. Consult your doctor immediately if any side effects worsen or persist.

Do not use Canesten V6 Tablet if you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of its components. Canesten V6 Tablet is for vaginal use only. Do not swallow. If you are pregnant, planning to have a baby, or are a nursing mother, you should not use Canesten V6 Tablet without a doctor's advice. • Shower regularly and properly dry yourself before clothing.
• Take warm baths with mild soap.
• Don't share your bedding, towels, or clothes.
• Wearing tights or tight underwear is not recommended.
• Do not scratch the infected area. Scratching the infected skin area may spread the illness to other body parts.
• Avoid harsh soaps and deodorants or any other products.
• Avoid intercourse till the thrush has been treated.
• Limit or cut down your consumption of alcohol and caffeine.
• Reduce your intake of sugar, yeast, refined carbohydrates, and mouldy foods.
