About Cardiozen- Fb Tablet

Cardiozen- Fb Tablet belongs to a group of medications called 'fibric acid derivatives or 'fibrates' primarily used to treat raised or increased cholesterol levels or fat/oils. Hyperlipidemia is a condition in which there is a high level of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) or bad cholesterol and a decreased level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or good cholesterol. Increased level of bad cholesterol leads to a high risk of heart attack and stroke in future, especially for heart disease patients.

Cardiozen- Fb Tablet contains 'fenofibrate', which works by increasing the natural substance that breaks down fats in the bloodstream, thereby increasing its utilization and removal. As a result, Cardiozen- Fb Tablet decreases harmful cholesterol like LDL (bad cholesterol) triglycerides (TG) and increases levels of HDL (good cholesterol).

Always take the Cardiozen- Fb Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Some people may experience nausea, chest pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, drowsiness, muscle pain, redness/swelling in the legs and increased liver enzymes. Most of these side effects of Cardiozen- Fb Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

To treat your condition effectually, continue using Cardiozen- Fb Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Do not use Cardiozen- Fb Tablet without a doctor's advice if you have a skin reaction or irritation to any medicine. Consult your doctor before using Cardiozen- Fb Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Cardiozen- Fb Tablet is not recommended for children under the age of 18, as the safety and effectiveness were not established. Avoiding alcohol is recommended to rule out any possibility of side effects.

Managing Medication-Triggered Rhinitis (Stuffy Nose): A Step-by-Step Guide
  • Consult your doctor if you experience nasal congestion, runny nose, or sinus pressure after taking medication.
  • Your doctor may adjust your treatment plan by changing your medication, adding new medications, or providing guidance on managing your rhinitis symptoms.
  • If advised by your doctor, use nasal decongestants or saline nasal sprays to help relieve nasal congestion.
  • Practice good hygiene, including frequent handwashing, avoiding close contact with others, and avoiding sharing utensils or personal items.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and other fluids to help thin out mucus and soothe your nasal passages.
Here are the steps to manage Joint Pain caused by medication usage:
  • Please inform your doctor about joint pain symptoms, as they may adjust your medication regimen or prescribe additional medications to manage symptoms.
  • Your doctor may prescribe common pain relievers if necessary to treat joint discomfort.
  • Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is key to relieving joint discomfort. Regular exercise, such as low-impact sports like walking, cycling, or swimming, should be combined with a well-balanced diet. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep per night to assist your body in repairing and rebuilding tissue.
  • Applying heat or cold packs to the affected joint can help reduce pain and inflammation.
  • Please track when joint pain occurs and any factors that may trigger it, and share this information with your doctor to help manage symptoms.
  • If your joint pain is severe or prolonged, consult a doctor to rule out any underlying disorders that may require treatment.
  • Drink water or other clear fluids.
  • To prevent worsening of pain, limit intake of tea, coffee, or alcohol.
  • Include bland foods like rice, toast, crackers, and rice in your diet.
  • Avoid lying down immediately after eating as it may cause indigestion or heartburn.
  • Avoid acidic and spicy food as it may cause indigestion.
Here are the precise steps to cope with diarrhoea caused by medication usage:
  • Inform Your Doctor: Notify your doctor immediately about your diarrhoea symptoms. This allows them to adjust your medication or provide guidance on managing side effects.
  • Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of fluids to replace lost water and electrolytes. Choose water, clear broth, and electrolyte-rich drinks. Avoid carbonated or caffeinated beverages to effectively rehydrate your body.
  • Follow a Bland Diet: Eat easy-to-digest foods to help firm up your stool and settle your stomach. Try incorporating bananas, rice, applesauce, toast, plain crackers, and boiled vegetables into your diet.
  • Avoid Trigger Foods: Steer clear of foods that can worsen diarrhoea, such as spicy, fatty, or greasy foods, high-fibre foods, and dairy products (especially if you're lactose intolerant).
  • Practice Good Hygiene: Maintain good hygiene to prevent the spread of infection. To stay healthy, wash your hands frequently, clean and disinfect surfaces regularly, and avoid exchanging personal belongings with others.
  • Take Anti-Diarrheal Medications: If your doctor advises, anti-diarrheal medications such as loperamide might help manage diarrhoea symptoms. Always follow your doctor's directions.
  • Keep track of your diarrhoea symptoms. If they don't get better or worse or are accompanied by severe stomach pain, blood, or dehydration signs (like extreme thirst or dark urine), seek medical help.
  • Abnormal liver function requires immediate medical attention. Your doctor may recommend lifestyle modifications along with needed medication.
  • Avoid intake of alcohol as it has a direct impact on liver functioning.
  • Prevent medications like paracetamol, over-the-counter painkillers or those mentioned by your doctor, as they may have issues getting metabolised in your body.
  • If you have overweight issues, losing weight can be a good thing to manage abnormal liver function.
  • Cut down the number of fatty foods that are taken daily.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Hyperlipidemia/High cholesterol: When the concentration of cholesterol (like lipids/oil/fats) in your blood is too high, this condition is called hyperlipidemia. Lipids are made naturally in our bodies and also taken from external foods. The liver breaks down these fats for further use.  If the levels of lipids are too high, the excess fat is deposited onto the walls of the heart's blood vessels of the heart, which can lead to plaque formation within the lining of arteries, leading to clogged arteries. These clogged arteries can increase the risk of stroke and heart attack.
