CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefadroxil (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefadroxil works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Cefadroxil against the bacteria. Together, CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup helps to treat bacterial infections.

CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup may cause Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD). Drink lots of fluids and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience prolonged diarrhoea with abdominal pain, stop taking CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup and consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
Do not stop taking CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup despite symptomatic relief. To treat your condition effectually, continue taking CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup for as long as it has been prescribed for you. It is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance).
Nausea could be a side-effect of CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup. Take CDCV 250mg/62.5mg Dry Syrup with food if you experience nausea. Stick to simple, bland foods and avoid spicy foods to cope with nausea.
