About Cemic CV Dry Syrup

Cemic CV Dry Syrup belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (infection of the sinuses), community-acquired pneumonia, gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), anorectal infections in women, skin, and urinary tract infections. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body.

Cemic CV Dry Syrup is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefpodoxime proxetil (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefpodoxime proxetil works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of Cefpodoxime proxetil against the bacteria. Together, Cemic CV Dry Syrup helps to treat bacterial infections.

Take Cemic CV Dry Syrup as prescribed by the doctor. The dose and duration of Cemic CV Dry Syrup can vary depending upon your condition and the severity of the infection. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Before starting Cemic CV Dry Syrup, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy to any antibiotic, kidney or liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking Cemic CV Dry Syrup if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Avoid taking Cemic CV Dry Syrup if you are breastfeeding as Cemic CV Dry Syrup may pass into breast milk. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Cemic CV Dry Syrup to prevent unpleasant side effects.
