Cetariv A Syrup consists of a combination of two medicines: cetirizine and ambroxol which is primarily used in the treatment of cough. Cetirizine belongs to a class of drugs called antihistamine or anti-allergic. It blocks the effects of a chemical messenger known as ‘histamine’ which is naturally involved in allergic reactions. It helps to provide relief from symptoms of allergy such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling and congestion or stiffness. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.

Cetariv A Syrup is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. In some cases, you may experience tiredness, sleepiness, dry mouth etc. Most of these side effects of Cetariv A Syrup do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. Drug-Drug Interaction: This medicine may have an interaction with other anti-allergic drugs (aprepitant, diphenhydramine), Sedatives (alprazolam, lorazepam, diazepam), blood thinner (warfarin) etc.

Drug-Food Interaction: Cetariv A Syrup may interact with other herbal/ayurvedic supplements. There is limited evidence regarding the same. So, if you are using any of the OTC items please tell your doctor.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Let your doctor know if you have kidney disease, epilepsy, and alcoholism before taking Cetariv A Syrup.

• The immune system is affected by stress and raises the risk of being sick. An individual can exercise regularly, meditate, do deep breathing and try progressive techniques of muscle relaxation to relieve stress.
• To stay fit and safe, try to sleep 7-9 hours each night.
• It is advised to avoid getting contact with known allergens (allergy-causing agents) such as pollen, dust, etc and specific food items that are known to cause allergy to you.
• Maintain personal hygiene and keep your surroundings clean. 

• If you have forgotten to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's nearly time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
• If you are having symptoms like lip swelling, tongue swelling, difficulty breathing, immediately reach out to your doctor. These are signs of anaphylaxis or severe allergic reactions which requires immediate medical attention.
