About Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml

Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml belongs to the class of medicines called immunosuppressants used in the treatment of severe keratitis (inflammation of the cornea) in adults. Also, it is used to treat dry eyes in patients whose condition has not been improved with artificial tears. A dry eye is a common condition that occurs when tears are unable to provide sufficient moisture. 

Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml contains Cyclosporine, which works by increasing tear production and decreasing inflammation (swelling) in the eye. 

Use Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience eye irritation, eye pain, watery eyes, itching in the eye, redness or swelling of the eyelid, and blurred vision using Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Dry eyes and severe keratitis

Directions for Use

Lie down and tilt your head backwards. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Do not touch the tip of the container to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml. Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml is for external use only. Do not inject Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml.

Medicinal Benefits

Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml contains Cyclosporine, an immunosuppressant that increases tear production and decreases inflammation (swelling) in the eye.   • Wear UV-protecting sunglasses when you are outside or in bright light.

  • Your doctor might recommend eye drops to treat dry eyes, reduce inflammation, or stop irritation.

How does the drug interact with Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml:
Co-administration of Baricitinib with Cyclosporine can increase the risk of infections as well as some cancers.

How to manage the interaction:
Taking Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml with Baricitinib is not recommended as it can cause an interaction, but it can be taken together if prescribed by a doctor. However, if you experience fever, chills, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle pains, breathing difficulty, blood in your coughing fluid, weight loss, red or irritated skin, body sores, and discomfort or burning sensation when you urinate, consult a doctor. Do not stop using any medications without a doctor's advice.
How does the drug interact with Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml:
Coadministration of pitavastatin with Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml may significantly increase the blood levels of pitavastatin which can increase the risk of side effects such as liver problems and rhabdomyolysis(involves the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue).

High potassium levels can cause hyperkalemia, which can lead to kidney failure, muscular paralysis, abnormal heart rhythms. If you are elderly, dehydrated, or have kidney disease, diabetes, or severe heart failure, you are more prone to develop hyperkalemia while taking these medications.

Taking aliskiren and Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml will lead to an interaction, they can be taken together if your doctor has prescribed them. However, consult the doctor if you experience nausea, vomiting, weakness, disorientation, tingling in your hands and feet, feelings of heaviness in your legs, a weak pulse, or a slow or irregular heartbeat. It is important to maintain proper fluid intake while taking these medications. It is advised to reduce intake of potassium-rich foods such as tomatoes, raisins, figs, potatoes, lima beans, bananas, plantains, papayas, pears, cantaloupes, mangoes, and potassium-containing salt substitutes.

Coadministration of Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml with Orlistat can reduce the levels and effects of Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml.

How to manage the interaction:
Although there is a possible interaction between Orlistat and Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml, you can take these medicines together when prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop using any medications without talking to a doctor.
How does the drug interact with Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml:
Co-administration of dabigatron etexilate with Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml may increase the blood levels of dabigatron etexilate.

Although there is a possible interaction between dabigatron etexilate and Cyclomune 0.5% Eye Drop 3 ml, you can take these medicines together if prescribed by your doctor. However, contact a doctor immediately if you experience any symptoms such as fever, chills, diarrhea, sore throat, muscle aches, shortness of breath, blood in phlegm, red or inflamed skin, body sores, and pain or burning during urination.
