D Worm 200mg Suspension contains ‘Albendazole’, which works by inhibiting tubulin polymerisation. This causes metabolic disruption and energy depletion in the parasite, which leads to its immobilisation. Thereby, D Worm 200mg Suspension kills the susceptible helminth and treats the infection.
Take D Worm 200mg Suspension as prescribed. You are advised to take D Worm 200mg Suspension for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. You may experience certain common side effects, such as stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, headache, and dizziness in some cases. For neurocysticercosis, D Worm 200mg Suspension is usually prescribed for 8-30 days. For cystic hydatid disease, D Worm 200mg Suspension is usually prescribed for 28 days, followed by a 14 day break, and repeated for a total of 3 cycles.
Do not discontinue D Worm 200mg Suspension without consulting your doctor. To treat your condition effectually continue taking D Worm 200mg Suspension for as long as prescribed. Do not be reluctant to speak with your doctor if you feel any difficulty while taking D Worm 200mg Suspension.
You are recommended to avoid planning for pregnancy while taking D Worm 200mg Suspension as it may cause foetal harm. A pregnancy test should be done before starting the treatment with D Worm 200mg Suspension, and women must use effective birth-control while taking D Worm 200mg Suspension and for at least 1month after cessation of treatment.
Regular monitoring of blood count at the beginning of each cycle therapy and for every 2weeks while taking D Worm 200mg Suspension is advised for all patients. Treatment with D Worm 200mg Suspension should be discontinued if a significant decrease in blood cell count is observed.
Treatment with D Worm 200mg Suspension has been associated with mild to moderate elevations of liver enzymes. These elevations generally return to normal upon discontinuation of D Worm 200mg Suspension. Liver function tests should be performed before each treatment cycle and for every 2weeks during the treatment. Treatment with D Worm 200mg Suspension should be discontinued if the liver enzymes exceed twice the upper limit of normal.
