Dexacort N Eye Ointment 3.5 gm belongs to the combination of steroids and antibiotics primarily used to treat eye inflammation caused by uveitis, eye injury, chemical burns, radiation, or certain other conditions. Dexacort N Eye Ointment 3.5 gm is used when there is a risk of bacterial infection in or around the eye. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the conjunctiva's inflammation or infection (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

Dexacort N Eye Ointment 3.5 gm is a combination of two drugs: Neomycin (antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (steroid). Neomycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that inhibits the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers, thereby killing bacteria. On the other hand, Dexamethasone belongs to the class of steroids that inhibit the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling in the eyes. Thereby, it reduces redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections.

Use Dexacort N Eye Ointment 3.5 gm as prescribed by your doctor. Dexacort N Eye Ointment 3.5 gm is only for external use. You are advised to use Dexacort N Eye Ointment 3.5 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience irritation, redness, itching, burning or stinging sensation, the sensitivity of eyes to light, eyelid swelling, or itching. Directions for Use

Eye drops: Lie down and tilt your head backward. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instil the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate eye drops.Eye ointment: Lie down and tilt your head backward.
