About Diapepsin P Tablet

Diapepsin P Tablet belongs to a class of medicine called 'digestive enzymes' or 'pancreatic enzyme supplement' prescribed to treat indigestion and bloating due to pancreas problems. Diapepsin P Tablet is prescribed for people whose bodies do not make enough of their own enzymes to digest their food. Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is the inability to digest food properly due to the pancreas' lack of a digestive enzyme. 

Diapepsin P Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Pancreatin (digestive enzyme) and Dimethicone (anti-flatulent). Diapepsin P Tablet contains Pancreatin which is a digestive enzyme that helps in the digestion of food. Pancreatin contains ‘pancreatin enzymes’ breakdown food and converts it into energy. On the other hand, Dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitates the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.

Take Diapepsin P Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Diapepsin P Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating. Most of these side effects of Diapepsin P Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time.
