Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension belongs to a group of medicines called antacids used to treat acidity, heartburn, stomach ulcer, indigestion, stomach upset, and bloating. The abdomen is usually protected from acid by a mucous layer. In some cases, due to excess acid production, the mucous layer gets eroded, which leads to complications like acidity and heartburn. 

Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension consists of Dimethicone, Aluminium hydroxide, Milk of magnesia, and sorbitol. Dimethicone is an antifoaming agent that works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). Aluminium hydroxide and milk of magnesia are antacids that work by neutralising excess stomach acid and providing relief from acidity. Sorbitol is a laxative that softens the stools and makes it easier to pass.

Take Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension as advised by your doctor. Sometimes, Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension may cause common side effects, such as constipation and diarrhoea. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Do not take Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension if you are allergic to any of its contents. Inform your doctor before taking Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension if you are undergoing dialysis. Consult your doctor before taking Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid consuming alcohol, as it could lead to increased acidity.

Avoid consuming alcohol, as it could lead to increased acidity. Do not use Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension for more than 2 weeks, except under the strict supervision of a doctor. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicines or herbal supplements before starting Diovol Plus B-Gum Forte Suspension .

• Eat smaller meals more often.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
• Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
• Avoid lying down after eating to prevent acid reflux.
• Avoid tight-fitting clothes as it might increase the pressure on the abdomen leading to acid reflux.
• Practise relaxation techniques and avoid stress by doing yoga or meditation.
• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea and soda. 
• Avoid sitting continuously, as it may trigger acidity. Take a break of 5 minutes every hour by doing brisk walking or stretching.
