About Duovir-N Tablet 30's

Duovir-N Tablet 30's is a combination of three drugs: lamivudine, zidovudine, and nevirapine. Duovir-N Tablet 30's works by preventing HIV (virus) from multiplying, thereby reducing the amount of virus in your body and also increasing the CD4 cell (white blood cells that protect against infection) count in your blood. Duovir-N Tablet 30's is generally prescribed for the treatment of HIV infection.

lamivudine and zidovudine is nucleosidase reverse transcriptase inhibitor, both medicines together decrease the amount of virus in your body by inhibiting HIV reverse transcription via viral DNA chain termination, whereas Niverapine is a non-nucleosidase reverse transcriptase inhibitor, works by lowering the amount of HIV in the blood. Duovir-N Tablet 30's will not cure HIV infection or AIDS, however, it helps keep HIV from reproducing and appears to slow down the destruction of the immune system.

Take Duovir-N Tablet 30's by mouth with a glass full of water.  Take it on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime, to reduce side effects. Skipping doses increases the risk of treatment failure. Common side effects of Duovir-N Tablet 30's are Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Headache, Tiredness, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Rash, Muscle damage, Anemia (low number of red blood cells), and Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils).
