Ebast-DC Tablet 10's is a cough and cold medication primarily used to treat common cold symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, congestion, stuffy nose, or watery eyes. The common cold is a respiratory illness affecting the nose and throat, mostly caused by viruses known as “rhinoviruses.” The virus attacks the body through the mouth, nose, or eyes and spreads easily through droplets in the air when a sick person sneezes, coughs, or talks.
Ebast-DC Tablet 10's contains Ebastine (antihistamine) and Phenylephrine (decongestant). Ebastine belongs to the class of antihistamines (anti-allergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions. It helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, congestion, or stiffness. Phenylephrine helps shrink the blood vessels in the nostrils and the passage and reduces stuffy noses.
Take Ebast-DC Tablet 10's as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Ebast-DC Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it based on your medical condition. Sometimes, you may experience drowsiness, headache, tiredness, stomach upset, restlessness, and dry mouth. Most of these side effects of Ebast-DC Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Ebast-DC Tablet 10's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to inform your doctor before using Ebast-DC Tablet 10's. It should be used in children only if prescribed by a doctor. Increase fluid intake as Ebast-DC Tablet 10's is known to cause dry mouth. If you have high blood pressure, kidney or liver problems, coronary artery disease, or are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAO) therapy, inform your doctor before taking Ebast-DC Tablet 10's.

Also, inform your doctor about all other medications you have taken before starting Ebast-DC Tablet 10's. Do not stop taking Ebast-DC Tablet 10's even if you feel better without asking your doctor, as your symptoms may come back and even worsen your condition. Ebast-DC Tablet 10's may cause drowsiness and sleepiness, so it is advised not to drive a car or operate machinery. Consumption of alcohol should be avoided as it may lead to excessive drowsiness and sleepiness. Do not take Ebast-DC Tablet 10's if you have taken any MAO inhibitor (anti-depressant medication) in the past 14 days. Do not smoke, as it might worsen your symptoms, so avoid tobacco intake.
Drug-Drug Interactions: Ebast-DC Tablet 10's may interact with antidepressants (isocarboxazid, rasagiline, amitriptyline, linezolid, tranylcypromine), anti-fungal medication (ketoconazole), heart medicines (digoxin, glyceryl trinitrate), hypertension medications (atenolol), antidepressants (amitriptyline), and antibiotics (erythromycin).
Drug-Food Interactions: Avoid alcohol intake with Ebast-DC Tablet 10's as it may cause increased drowsiness, dizziness, and lack of concentration.
Drug-Disease Interactions: If you have heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, prostate gland problems (especially in men), have glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye), overactive thyroid gland, are taking Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor (used for depression), hypokalaemia., inform your doctor before taking Ebast-DC Tablet 10's.
