About Ebexid Tablet 10's

Ebexid Tablet 10's is a combination medicine used to treat hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a chronic condition in which the thyroid gland (located below the throat in the neck) cannot produce enough thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormones are composed of triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) which control the body's metabolism. In the condition of an underactive thyroid, the body's metabolism slows down, and the person feels less energetic.

Ebexid Tablet 10's contains Thyroxine, Pyridoxine, and Nicotinamide. Thyroxine replaces the thyroid hormone that the thyroid gland is unable to produce. Pyridoxine/vitamin B6 helps in the utilisation of iodine, that is necessary for the synthesis of thyroxine hormone. Nicotinamide helps in keeping the body cells active. Pyridoxine and Nicotinamide help in providing essential nutrients. Together, Ebexid Tablet 10's helps in treating hypothyroidism.

You are advised to take Ebexid Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as anxiety, vomiting, tremor, diarrhoea, palpitations, weight loss, and nervousness. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Let your doctor know if you are allergic to any of the contents in Ebexid Tablet 10's. Consult your doctor before taking Ebexid Tablet 10's if you are pregnant. Ebexid Tablet 10's should be given to children only if prescribed by a doctor. Consult your doctor before consuming alcohol along with Ebexid Tablet 10's. Ebexid Tablet 10's does not help in treating obesity or weight problems. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out any side-effects.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Hypothyroidism: It is a chronic condition in which the thyroid gland is unable to produce enough thyroid hormone to fulfil the needs of the body. The thyroid gland is a small gland that is located at the front of the neck and is responsible for releasing hormones (tri-iodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4)) which are required for the proper functioning of the body. Without enough amount of thyroid hormone, the body's metabolism slows down, and a person feels less energetic. Early symptoms of hypothyroidism are fatigue and weight gain. Other symptoms include fatigue, weight gain, depression, constipation, feeling cold, decreased sweating, slowed heart rate, elevated blood cholesterol, dry skin, thinning hair, impaired memory, menstrual changes, muscle weakness, muscle stiffness and hoarseness.
