About Efonta T 20 mg/40 mg Tablet

Efonta T 20 mg/40 mg Tablet is an anti-hypertensive medicine primarily used in the treatment of Hypertension. It also helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and angina (chest pain). Hypertension (high blood pressure) is a serious condition in which the force exerted by the blood against the artery walls becomes high. This makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood.

Efonta T 20 mg/40 mg Tablet is a combination medicine containing Efonidipine (calcium channel blockers) and Telmisartan (angiotensin receptor blocker). Efonidipine works by relaxing the blood vessels. This reduces the workload on the heart and makes the heart more efficient for pumping blood throughout the body. Telmisartan works by blocking the action of certain substances that are responsible for tightening the blood vessels. It allows the blood to flow more smoothly and makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood.

Efonta T 20 mg/40 mg Tablet may cause certain common side effects such as sore back, diarrhoea, congested feeling, spinning sensation, and soreness in the sinus that usually resolve after some time. This medicine can be taken with or without food. It should be used only upon the doctor’s advice. Always remember not to take more than the prescribed dose of medicine.

Efonta T 20 mg/40 mg Tablet should not be used if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor about your medical history and current medication including herbs and supplements before starting the treatment with Efonta T 20 mg/40 mg Tablet . This can help reduce side effects/interactions. It should be used with caution if you are diagnosed with congestive heart failure, liver disease, and peripheral oedema (swelling of hands/legs). Directions for Use

Efonta T 20 mg/40 mg Tablet should be taken as advised by the doctor. It can be taken with or without food. It is advised not to take more than the prescribed dose. Swallow the whole tablet with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it.
