About EMCORT-CF CREAM

EMCORT-CF CREAM is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat skin infections, such as eczema (inflamed, itchy, cracked, and rough skin patches), dermatitis, nasal polyps (painless growth on the lining of the nose or sinuses), impetigo (red sores on the face), psoriasis (skin cells multiply rapidly to form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales), ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, and dermatoses (lesions or eruptions of the skin). Skin infection occurs when a foreign microbe like fungus or bacteria invades and affects the tissue on the skin.

EMCORT-CF CREAM is composed of Clotrimazole (antifungal), Fusidic acid (antibacterial), and Mometasone (corticosteroid). Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication. It stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Fusidic acid is an antibacterial medication that prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Mometasone belongs to the class of corticosteroids. Corticosteroids have anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative (inhibit cell growth) properties. It blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen, and itchy. Mometasone effectively treats inflammation and itchiness caused by eczema and psoriasis.

Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection. EMCORT-CF CREAM is for topical (for skin) use only. EMCORT-CF CREAM has common side effects like itching, irritation, and burning sensation at the application site. These side effects usually do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time.

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions medicines, diabetes, Cushing's disease (high cortisol levels), cataracts, and glaucoma before starting EMCORT-CF CREAM. If EMCORT-CF CREAM gets into the eyes, nose, or mouth, wash the areas with clean water thoroughly. Do not cover the affected areas with air-tight dressings after applying EMCORT-CF CREAM if the doctor did not advise you. It is not recommended to use EMCORT-CF CREAM for diaper rash.
