About Ezentia Tablet

Ezentia Tablet belongs to the class of cholesterol-lowering medication primarily used to treat high cholesterol. Cholesterol is a waxy substance produced by the liver to protect nerves, make tissue, and various hormones. Our body also receives cholesterol from food, like cooking oils, eggs, meats, and dairy products. There are two types of cholesterol, namely 'bad cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides (TG)) and 'good cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein (HDL)).

Ezentia Tablet contains Ezetimibe, which is a cholesterol absorption inhibitor. It effectively lowers the amount of cholesterol in the blood by reducing cholesterol absorption in the intestine and lowering the level of bad cholesterol in the blood. Hence, reducing the chances of heart disease and making them healthier.

Take Ezentia Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to take Ezentia Tablet for as long as your doctor prescribes it. The most common side effects of Ezentia Tablet are abdominal pain, diarrhoea, flatulence, tiredness, joint pain, and respiratory tract infection. They do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Ezentia Tablet may cause a breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to kidney failure. This condition usually occurs in the elderly, people with kidney disease, and poorly controlled hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid). Ezentia Tablet should not be prescribed to children less than ten years of age. You should contact a doctor before if you have had an allergic reaction to Ezentia Tablet , have liver or kidney problems, pregnant or planning to get pregnant, are breastfeeding, have severe lung disease, or have a previous heart attack or stroke caused by bleeding in the brain, have hypothyroidism, drink more than two servings of alcohol per day and have a muscle disorder (fibromyalgia). The efficiency of Ezentia Tablet can be increased by taking low-fat or cholesterol-containing food and drinks.

Side effects of Ezentia Tablet
Here's a comprehensive approach to managing medication-triggered fever:
  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience a fever after starting a new medication.
  • Your doctor may adjust your medication regimen or dosage as needed to minimize fever symptoms.
  • Monitor your body temperature to monitor fever progression.
  • Drink plenty of fluids, such as water or electrolyte-rich beverages, to help your body regulate temperature.
  • Get plenty of rest and engage in relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or meditation, to help manage fever symptoms.
  • Under the guidance of your doctor, consider taking medication, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to help reduce fever.
  • If your fever is extremely high (over 103°F), or if you experience severe symptoms such as confusion, seizures, or difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical attention.
  • To help reduce symptoms, eat foods high in vitamin C, such as oranges, bell peppers and strawberries.
  • Lightly blow your nose to remove mucus; steer clear of blowing hard.
  • Infections can be prevented from spreading by washing hands frequently and staying away from other people.
  • If you have allergies, do your best to avoid triggering allergens that could contribute to a runny nose.
  • Don't smoke, as irritating the nasal passages can make a runny nose worse.
  • Drink warm fluids such as warm water with honey, broth, soup or herbal tea to soothe sore throat.
  • Gargle with warm salt water.
  • Suck on lozenges to increase the production of saliva and soothe your throat.
  • Use a humidifier to soothe sore throat as it adds moisture to the air and makes breathing easier.
Managing back pain as a side effect of medication requires a combination of self-care techniques, lifestyle modifications, and medical interventions. Here are the steps:
  • Talk to your doctor about your back pain and potential medication substitutes or dose changes.
  • Try yoga or Pilates and other mild stretching exercises to increase flexibility and strengthen your back muscles.
  • To lessen the tension on your back, sit and stand upright and maintain proper posture.
  • To alleviate discomfort and minimize inflammation, apply heat or cold packs to the afflicted area.
  • Under your doctor's supervision, think about taking over-the-counter painkillers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
  • Make ergonomic adjustments to your workspace and daily activities to reduce strain on your back.
  • To handle tension that could make back pain worse, try stress-reduction methods like deep breathing or meditation.
  • Use pillows and a supportive mattress to keep your spine in the right posture as you sleep.
  • Back discomfort can worsen by bending, twisting, and heavy lifting.
  • Speak with a physical therapist to create a customized training regimen to increase back strength and flexibility.
  • Body pain can be treated with regular exercise or yoga, which includes mild stretching, which helps strengthen the lower body.
  • Warm baths and gentle massage of the affected parts can help relieve pain.
  • Avoid strenuous activity and take frequent breaks, as rest is critical.
  • Intake of nutritious food can help strengthen body and mind. A trained nutritionist can help design a balanced diet for strengthening your body.
  • Speak to your doctor if the pain lasts an extended period. Medical help can be practical in finding a cure for constant body pain.
  • Chest pain may last for a while and needs immediate medical attention as it is a significant health issue to be attended to.
  • Take rest and refrain from doing physical activity for a while, and restart after a few days.
  • Try applying an ice pack to the strained area for at least 20 minutes thrice a day. Ice pack thus helps reduce inflammation.
  • Sit upright and maintain proper posture if there is persistent chest pain. • Use extra pillows to elevate your position and prop your chest up while sleeping.

FAQs

Ezentia Tablet contains Ezetimibe, which is a cholesterol absorption inhibitor. It effectively lowers cholesterol in the blood by reducing cholesterol absorption in the intestine and lowering bad cholesterol levels. Hence, reducing the chances of heart disease and making them healthier.

Ezentia Tablet , when used with another cholesterol-lowering medicine, especially statin, can cause an increase in liver enzymes. But if used alone, the chances of increased liver enzymes become very rare.

Ezentia Tablet is primarily used to treat blood cholesterol levels, so for best results, avoid food that is high in cholesterol, like chips, burgers, and fried food. Preferably eat a low-fat, low-cholesterol diet like home-cooked food.

People with liver or kidney disease or muscle weakness (myopathy) should avoid taking Ezentia Tablet as it might further worsen their condition.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Cholesterol: Cholesterol is a waxy substance produced by the liver to protect nerves, make tissue, and various hormones. Our body also receives cholesterol from food, like cooking oils, eggs, meats, and dairy products. Excess cholesterol is bad for our health. There are two types of cholesterol, namely 'bad cholesterol' and 'good cholesterol. Bad cholesterol comprises low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides (TG), while good cholesterol consists of high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Usually, there are no specific symptoms of raised or high cholesterol levels but a large deposition of cholesterol in the arteries (plaque) or heart blockage. Blocked artery or plaque formation in the heart's arteries can lead to chest pain (angina), heart attack, or stroke. So it is advisable to have complete cholesterol tests (lipid profile test) at least once a year. It will help you to closely monitor your heart health and risk of heart attack and stroke.
