Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet belongs to a class of medications called 'haematinics' primarily used to treat anaemia (deficiency of iron and haemoglobin). Iron deficiency occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry the adequate oxygen required to various body tissues. 

Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet is a combination of two drugs, namely: Elemental Iron and Folic acid. Elemental iron helps with the transportation of oxygen throughout the body and the production of red blood cells. Folic acid works by boosting the production of red blood cells (RBC) in the body.  Together, Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet helps treat anaemia.

You are advised to take Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has recommended it for you, depending upon your medical condition. You may experience constipation, dry mouth, loss of appetite, bloating, and diarrhoea in some cases. Most of these side effects of Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Do not take Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet if you are allergic to iron, folic acid or any of the ingredients of Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet . • Eat a healthy diet, especially green leafy vegetables, and do regular physical exercise.
• Limit the consumption of alcohol, junk food items from outside and stick to freshly prepared home-cooked meals.
• Increase intake of fruits in your diet especially fruits rich in iron like pomegranate, citrus fruits.
• Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet can cause dry mouth, so drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself hydrated.

• Avoid taking Ferinop XT 100 mg Tablet along with diary products, coffee, alcohol, and eggs.
• Constantly monitor your blood iron or haemoglobin level.
