Scales typically develop on joints, such as elbows and knees. They may develop anywhere on the body, including hands, feet, neck, scalp, and face. Symptoms include red patches of skin covered with thick and silvery scales, small scaling spots, dry and cracked skin (may bleed or itch), burning, thickened and pitted or ridged nails, and swollen and stiff joints.

Impetigo: Impetigo is a common and highly contagious skin infection, mainly affecting infants and children. Impetigo usually appears as red sores on the face, especially around a child's nose and mouth, and hands and feet. The sores burst and develop honey-coloured crusts.
