About Fosapp 150Mg Injection

Fosapp 150Mg Injection belongs to a class of drugs called anti-emetics. It is used in combination with other medicines to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (anti-cancer medicines) in patients six months of age and above. Nausea is a feeling of uneasiness in the stomach that often comes before vomiting. On the other hand, vomiting is the forcible voluntary or involuntary emptying of stomach contents through the mouth.

Fosapp 150Mg Injection contains Aprepitant, a neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor antagonist which works by blocking neurokinin-1 receptors (causes the feeling of sickness) present in the vomiting centre in the brain. Thus, it helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

Fosapp 150Mg Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, Fosapp 150Mg Injection may cause common side effects such as weakness, tiredness, diarrhoea, urinary tract infection, pain in arms and legs, or indigestion. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, consult your doctor immediately if the side effects persist or worsen.

If you are allergic to Fosapp 150Mg Injection or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Fosapp 150Mg Injection is not recommended for children below six months of age. The liver is primarily responsible for Fosapp 150Mg Injection metabolism. Fosapp 150Mg Injection was well tolerated in investigations of patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score 5 to 9), and no clinically significant changes in its pharmacokinetics were seen. As a result, there is no need to change the dosage of Fosapp 150Mg Injection in this patient population. Fosapp 150Mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score > 9), as there is no clinical or pharmacokinetic data in this population.

Disease/Condition Glossary

Nausea and vomiting: Nausea is an uneasiness in the stomach that usually precedes vomiting. Vomiting, on the other hand, is a normal bodily response in which a person desires to evacuate stomach contents from the mouth aggressively. In brief, nausea and vomiting are symptoms of a variety of disorders, including infections, motion sickness, an early stage of pregnancy, and gastroparesis (slow stomach emptying). Vomiting is controlled by a receptor in the brain known as the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ). After chemotherapy and radiation therapy, nausea and vomiting are common side effects. It can also arise as a side effect of an operation or surgery. Controlling vomiting and nausea in cancer patients is critical for conducting daily tasks. It can cause mental abnormalities, lack of appetite, malnutrition, and dehydration if not managed.
