About Furotop SA Ointment
Furotop SA Ointment belongs to the class of ‘dermatological agents’ primarily used to treat skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis. Eczema is a condition in which skin becomes red, itchy, and inflamed due to external agents such as soaps, dyes, or other irritants. Psoriasis is an autoimmune (immune system attacks healthy cells) skin disorder in which the skin becomes scaly, swelled up, and itchy.
Furotop SA Ointment is a combination of two medicines: Mometasone and Salicylic acid. Mometasone belongs to the corticosteroid class and has anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative (inhibit cell growth) properties. It blocks prostaglandins production (chemical messengers) that cause inflammatory symptoms such as red, swollen, and itchy rashes. Salicylic acid is a keratolytic medicine that breaks down the clumps of keratin (protein present on the skin), removes dead skin cells, and softens the skin. It enhances the absorption of mometasone. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and topical antibacterial agent.
You should use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Furotop SA Ointment may cause common side effects like itching, dryness, redness, irritation, and burning sensation at the application site. These side effects usually do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if you notice any other symptoms or the side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.
Do not use Furotop SA Ointment if you are allergic to Mometasone, Salicylic acid, or any other ingredients present in it. Furotop SA Ointment is not recommended for use in conditions such as pustular psoriasis (characterized by scaly, pus-filled bumps), rosacea (a skin condition affecting the face), acne, skin atrophy (thinning of the skin), dermatitis around the mouth, itching around the genitals, diaper rash, bacterial infections such as impetigo, tuberculosis (infection of the lung), syphilis (a sexually transmitted disease), recent allergic reaction to a vaccination, open wounds, broken skin, or other viral, fungal, or parasitic skin infections. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Description
The Furotop SA Ointment features a dual-action formula for the treatment of various skin conditions. This solution, recommended by dermatologists, blends mometasone furoate's anti-inflammatory qualities with salicylic acid's keratolytic properties. It provides comprehensive relief from inflammation, itching, and scaling linked to skin disorders such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. What makes this ointment unique is its ability to reduce discomfort and promote healing by drawing on the strength of mometasone furoate - a potent corticosteroid known for inhibiting inflammation and suppressing the skin's immune response.
Simultaneously, salicylic acid works to exfoliate dead skin cells and clear blocked pores, resulting in reduced scaling and improved skin health. The ointment's base serves as a protective barrier over affected areas, locking in moisture while allowing the active ingredients to penetrate deeply for optimal effectiveness. Dermatologists trust Furotop SA Ointment as an effective solution for various skin conditions, making it a practical option for your skincare needs.
