Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's belongs to a class of medication called anti-infectives used for the syndromic treatment of vaginal infections. Vaginal infections can cause vaginal discharge, discomfort, and vaginal odour. However, these symptoms do not necessarily indicate an infection. Instead, they may result from other conditions that affect the vagina.

Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's is a combination of three drugs, namely: Clotrimazole (antifungal), Lactobacillus acidophilus, and Tinidazole (antiprotozoal).  Clotrimazole is an antifungal that stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Lactobacillus acidophilus is a live microorganism that maintains the vagina in a healthy condition by producing anti-infectious substances. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Thereby, kills micro-organisms and clears the infection.

You are advised to take Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience bitter taste, nausea, weakness, indigestion, vomiting, weight gain, headache, dizziness, constipation. Most of these side effects of Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects worsen or persist, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Avoid taking Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's if you are pregnant or a nursing mother and consult a doctor. Tinidazole may affect fertility in both men and women. Directions for Use

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's may interact with a blood thinner (warfarin), antibiotics (rifampicin), antidepressants (nortriptyline, amitriptyline), antifungals (voriconazole, amphotericin B), benzodiazepines (triazolam, midazolam), anticonvulsants (phenytoin, carbamazepine), pain relievers (ibuprofen), antiallergic drugs (astemizole, terfenadine), antipsychotic drug (pimozide), a drug for stomach upset (cisapride), medicines used to lower high blood pressure (verapamil, felodipine), antiarrhythmic agent (quinidine), anticancer drug (ibrutinib, olaparib), antiasthma drug (theophylline), anti-HIV drugs (saquinavir, zidovudine), antidiabetics (glibenclamide, glipizide, chlorpropamide, tolbutamide), corticosteroids (fluticasone).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid drinking beer, wine or spirits while taking Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's and for 3 days after treatment with Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's as it may cause stomach cramps, pounding heart, stomach cramps, or flushing (sudden feeling of warmth).

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have adrenal insufficiency (adrenal glands do not produce sufficient amounts of steroid hormones), blood disorders, fits, kidney, liver, HIV, or heart problems inform your doctor before taking Ginlac-V Vaginal Tablet 4's.
