About Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml

Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml is a combination medicine used to treat bacterial and fungal infections of the ear. An ear infection occurs when the bacteria or fungi affect the middle or outer ear, leading to pain and inflammation. Infection of the middle ear (air-filled space behind the eardrum) is known as otitis media. In contrast, the inflammation of the external/outer ear canal that runs from the eardrum to the outside of the head is known as otitis externa.

Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml is a combination of four drugs, namely: Beclometasone (corticosteroid), Clotrimazole (antifungal), Lidocaine (local anesthetic), and Neomycin (antibiotic). Beclometasone belongs to steroids that work by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Thereby, reduces the redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections. Clotrimazole belongs to the class of antifungals that works by damaging the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that decreases pain sensation by preventing pain signals from nerves to the brain. Neomycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby, it destroys bacteria.  

Use Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml is only for use in ears. You are advised to use Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience mild irritation, stinging, or burning sensation in the ear. Most of these side effects of Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml is not recommended for children. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before using Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml. Avoid contact of Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml with nose, mouth, or eyes. Directions for Use

Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml is for external use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after use. Use the dropper provided with the pack to instil the drops into the affected ear as advised by your doctor. Replace the outer cap after use. Please do not touch the container's tip to the ear or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml.

Together, Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml treats ear infections caused by bacteria and fungi.

You are recommended to wash your hands first, tilt your head so that ear faces up, and gently pull the ear lobe backward. Then, apply the number of drops into the affected ear as advised by your doctor without touching the tip of the bottle to the ear or surrounding areas to avoid contamination. Finally, replace the cap tightly after use. After applying Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml, you are advised to keep your head tilted for about 5 minutes to enter the lower ear canal.

Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml may be used to treat otitis externa (redness and swelling of the outer ear canal). Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml kills microorganisms and reduces swelling and redness caused due to infection.

Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml may cause temporary irritation in the ear immediately after application. However, if the irritation persists or worsens, please consult your doctor.

You are recommended to use Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. However, if the condition persists or worsens after 1 week of treatment with Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml, please consult a doctor.

You are not recommended to stop using Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, and if you experience any difficulty while taking Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml, please consult your doctor.

Special Advise

  • Do not touch the dropper tip as it may contaminate the contents. Do not put any cotton into the ear after the administration of ear drops.
  • Discard any unused medicine after the completion of the course of treatment.
  • Glybiotic Plus Ear Drops 5 ml is an otic solution which is to be used only to treat infected ears; do not instill in the eyes.
