Huchnil Tablet 10's is a respiratory medication used to treat symptoms associated with chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), allergic rhinitis, and respiratory tract infections, such as cough, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. COPD is a group of lung diseases that mainly include emphysema (shortness of breath) and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the lining of your bronchial tubes). Allergic rhinitis is an inflammation of the nose caused by an allergen, such as pollen, dust, mould, or flakes of skin from certain animals.

Huchnil Tablet 10's consists of two medicines: Levocetirizine (anti-histamine) and Ambroxol (mucolytic agent). Levocetirizine is an antihistamine (anti-allergic) drug that reduces the effects of histamine, a chemical substance that causes allergies like runny nose and skin rash. It is used to treat relieve symptoms, such as watery eyes, runny nose, itchy eyes/nose, sneezing, and itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives). Ambroxol is an 'expectorant' that promotes the secretion of sputum/cough. It is also a 'mucolytic agent' that makes sputum less viscous and makes breathing easier.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the course based on the severity of your disease. Do not stop taking Huchnil Tablet 10's on your own until the doctor advises you to do so. Like every other medication, Huchnil Tablet 10's also has common side effects like upset stomach, dryness in the mouth, headache, fatigue, and sleepiness. These side effects, if occurred, generally go away during the treatment. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to medicines. It is mandatory to inform your doctor if you have heart, liver, kidney diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, stomach ulcers, prostate enlargement, urinary retention, and diabetes before taking Huchnil Tablet 10's. Please check with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol while taking Huchnil Tablet 10's, since it can worsen the side effects like dizziness and sleepiness. Huchnil Tablet 10's should be cautiously used in children when advised by the doctor.

Please consult your doctor before using Huchnil Tablet 10's if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or are a breastfeeding mother. Avoid consuming alcohol with Huchnil Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness or dizziness. Do not drive if you feel sleepy after taking Huchnil Tablet 10's.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Huchnil Tablet 10's may interact with anti-allergic drugs (diphenhydramine), antidepressants (duloxetine), anticonvulsants (pregabalin), and antianxiety drugs (alprazolam).

Drug-Food Interaction: Limit alcohol intake since it may worsen the side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Huchnil Tablet 10's should be administered with caution in patients with heart, liver, and kidney diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, stomach ulcers, prostate enlargement, and urinary retention.

• Take the medication as directed by the doctor and at regular intervals. Do not use other over the counter medications, herbal or vitamin supplements without informing your pharmacist or doctor when you take Huchnil Tablet 10's.

• Quit smoking and avoid passive smoking. Smoking may reduce the effectiveness of the medicine.
• Drink warm fluids while you take Huchnil Tablet 10's to help loosen congestion and lubricate the throat.
• Eat a healthy diet and exercise regularly to strengthen your breathing muscles and boost your immune system.
• Learning breathing exercises will help you move more air in and out of your lungs.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol with Huchnil Tablet 10's as it may cause tiredness, drowsiness or lack of concentration.
