About Hydab Capsule
Hydab Capsule belongs to a group of classes known as an antimetabolite. It is an anticancer medicine used to treat head and neck cancer and sickle cell anemia (blocking the flow of blood that causes pain and organ damage). Head and neck cancer is a disease including abnormal growth of the tissues of the neck and head that may also have the ability to attack or spread to other portions of the body. Sickle cell anemia is a disease in which your body results in abnormally shaped red blood cells. The cells are shaped like a curved or sickle.
In cancer, Hydab Capsule works by blocking an enzyme that is required for growing cells. This prevents the cancer cells from multiplying and growing. In sickle cell disease, it works by increasing fetal hemoglobin (HbF) (hemoglobin of unborn baby) levels in red blood cells (RBCs). This helps the RBCs accept a normal shape, recovers the flow of blood, and protects against problems like painful sickle cell attacks.
Take Hydab Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Hydab Capsule for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience loss of appetite (feeling unwell and stomach upset), Increased bleeding tendency, nausea, upset stomach, vomiting. Combining Hydab Capsule with didanosine can have serious consequences on your liver or pancreas. Didanosine may potentially induce lactic acidosis (lactic acid buildup in the body).Lactic acidosis can develop gradually and worsen over time.
How to manage the interaction:
Co-administration of Hydab Capsule with didanosine can possibly result in an interaction, but it can be taken if your doctor has advised it. However, if you have any of the following symptoms while taking didanosine: strong discomfort in your upper stomach that spreads to your back, rapid heart rate, nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea, lack of appetite, low fever, dark urine, clay-colored faeces, or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), unusual muscle pain and weakness, trouble breathing, fast or uneven heart rate, stomach pain, and numbness or cold feeling in your arms or legs, contact the doctor immediately.
Hydab Capsule when used in conjunction with etanercept may raise the risk of severe infections.

There may be a possibility of interaction between Hydab Capsule with etanercept, but it can be taken if prescribed by a doctor.
