Hylasto S Inj 2Ml

Hylasto S Inj 2Ml belongs to the class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)  used in the treatment of knee pain due to osteoarthritis in patients who have failed to respond adequately to simple painkillers or physical therapy and exercise. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to the breakdown of a protective covering of cartilage. Due to the absence of this protective covering, the joints rub against each other, leading to pain and stiffness.

Hylasto S Inj 2Ml contains Sodium hyaluronate, which works by restoring synovial fluid in the knee that helps to lubricate and cushion the joint during movement. Thereby it reduces pain.

Hylasto S Inj 2Ml will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as pain, swelling, redness, and warmth at the injection site or fluid in the joint. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Sodium hyaluronate or products from birds such as eggs, feathers and poultry, inform your doctor before receiving Hylasto S Inj 2Ml. If you are a pregnant or breastfeeding woman, inform your doctor before receiving Hylasto S Inj 2Ml. Hylasto S Inj 2Ml is not recommended for children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Hylasto S Inj 2Ml should be used with caution in patients with pre-existing chondrocalcinosis (accumulation of calcium salts in hyaline cartilage or fibrocartilage) as it may lead to an acute attack of the condition.

Avoid activities such as tennis, heavy lifting, jogging, or standing on your feet for a long time immediately after receiving Hylasto S Inj 2Ml and for the next 48 hours.

• Physical activity helps strengthen muscles and relieves joint stiffness. Gentle activities like 20-30 minutes of walking or swimming would be helpful.
• Performing yoga may also help in improving joint flexibility and pain management.
• Maintain a healthy weight by performing regular low-strain exercises and eating healthy food.
• Get adequate sleep, as resting the muscles can help in reducing inflammation and swelling.
• Follow heat or cold therapy, and apply a cold or hot compress on the joints for 15-20 minutes regularly.
• Acupuncture, massage, and physical therapy may also be helpful.
• Eat foods rich in antioxidants such as berries, spinach, kidney beans, dark chocolate, etc.
• Foods containing flavonoids, such as soy, berries, broccoli, grapes, and green tea, help reduce inflammation.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.

Osteoarthritis: It is a degenerative joint disease that occurs when the concentration of sodium hyaluronate in joints decreases. Other reasons include a past injury such as torn cartilage, dislocated joints and ligament injuries.
