About Hyocimax MF Tablet

Hyocimax MF Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat menstrual pain. It effectively treats menstrual cramps and discomfort caused during menstrual periods. A menstrual cramp is a pain that occurs in the lower abdomen, which happens just before or at the beginning of a menstrual period.

Hyocimax MF Tablet consists of two medicines: Hyoscine butyl bromide and Mefenamic acid. Hyoscine butyl bromide is an anticholinergic drug that stops muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes. Further, it prevents the formation of chemical messengers, 'prostaglandins' (PGs) that cause pain and swelling.

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on the severity of your pain. Common side effects of Hyocimax MF Tablet include nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, and heartburn. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Please tell your doctor if you are allergic to Hyocimax MF Tablet or its components. Inform your doctor beforehand if you have liver, kidney or heart diseases, glaucoma, enlarged bowel (megacolon), myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), gastrointestinal problems, high blood pressure, and asthma before starting Hyocimax MF Tablet . It is essential to let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or a breastfeeding mother. Hyocimax MF Tablet may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. You are advised to avoid alcohol intake while using Hyocimax MF Tablet .

Directions for Use

Medicinal Benefits

Hyocimax MF Tablet contains Hyoscine butyl bromide and Mefenamic acid. Hyoscine butyl bromide is an anticholinergic drug that stops muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Mefenamic acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that further prevents the formation of chemical messengers called 'prostaglandins' (PGs). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking COX enzymes' effect, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Thus Hyocimax MF Tablet treats menstrual pain, discomfort, and abdominal cramps.

FAQs

Hyocimax MF Tablet is a combination drug that contains 'Mefenamic acid' and 'Hyoscine butyl bromide.' Mefenamic acid works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, which is responsible for causing pain. Hyoscine butyl bromide stops the muscle contractions by relaxing the muscles in the stomach, intestine, and bladder. Collectively, both of them help to relieve pain, cramps, and discomfort caused during the menstrual period.

Hyocimax MF Tablet is used to relieve menstrual (period) pain, symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and management of excessively heavy periods. Take only as prescribed by the doctor.

Avoid taking Hyocimax MF Tablet if you have stomach ulcers as Hyocimax MF Tablet contains Mefenamic acid, which might increase the risk of stomach ulcers, perforation of the stomach and intestinal bleeding with higher doses.

Dry mouth could be a side-effect of Hyocimax MF Tablet . Limiting caffeine intake, avoiding smoking and mouthwashes containing alcohol, drinking water regularly, and chewing sugar-free gum/candy might stimulate saliva and prevent mouth drying.

Hyocimax MF Tablet is generally prescribed for short-term use. Do not take Hyocimax MF Tablet for longer durations as it might increase the risk of heart problems and stomach bleeding.
