Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml belongs to a class of combination drugs called 'antifungal with keratolytic agents' primarily used to treat dandruff and control seborrheic dermatitis (scaly patches and red skin on the scalp). Dandruff is a flaky, itchy scalp without signs of inflammation.

Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml is composed of two medicines: Ketoconazole (antifungal) and Coal Tar (keratolytic agent). Ketoconazole is an antifungal agent that works by preventing the growth of dandruff-causing fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Coal tar belongs to a class of drugs known as keratoplastic, which works by removing dead cells from the skin’s top layer and slowing down skin cells' growth. This effect decreases scaling and dryness, thus relieving itching and cracking related to dandruff.

You are advised to use Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. You may experience warmth or a burning sensation, skin irritation, itching, and redness at the application site. The burning sensation may usually last for five minutes after application. Most of these side effects of Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml may cause liver failure, so your doctor will monitor your liver function while taking Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml. Drug-Drug Interaction: Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml may interact with the antianxiety drug (alprazolam), heart disease (quinidine, amiodarone), blood pressure-lowering pills (aliskiren, felodipine, nifedipine), medicines used to treat enlarged prostate (alfuzosin), anticancer (busulfan).

Drug-Food Interaction: Avoid caffeine-containing food and drinking alcohol.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have asthma, heart, or liver problems, inform your doctor before taking Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml.

• Do not scratch the affected area of skin as it can spread the infection to other body parts.
• Avoid sharing towels, combs, bedsheets, with others.
• Wash your bed sheets and towels regularly.
• Avoid or limit the intake of alcohol and caffeine.
• Leave the shampoo on for three to five minutes before rinsing.
• Do not scratch or pick your skin to avoid getting the affected area infected.
• Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and sleep peacefully. 

Avoid contact of Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml with nose, mouth, or eyes. If Ketafung-CT Lotion 90 ml comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. 

Dandruff: It is unnecessary shedding of dead skin from the scalp. Shedding skin is a normal sensation of the body as skin cells die and peel off. White flakes or scales are detectable as dandruff when there is excessive shedding of dead cells.

Seborrheic dermatitis: The skin disease causes scaly patches and red skin, mainly on the scalp. It can cause stubborn dandruff.
