Lefonin Tablet 10's belongs to the hypnotics and sedative medication class that primarily helps control sleep patterns. It can be used to treat jet lag and other sleep disorders such as Insomnia. Jet lag is a sleep disorder in people who travel across multiple time zones. Insomnia is a disorder of sleep that causes difficulty in falling asleep or staying asleep. It may be acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term) in nature due to various complications like stress, anxiety, and breathing problems.
L Theanine and Melatonin are the two active components present in Lefonin Tablet 10's. L-Theanine is thought to work by decreasing 'excitatory' brain chemicals that contribute to stress and anxiety while increasing brain chemicals that promote calmness, thereby inducing sleep. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that assists in maintaining a normal sleep cycle (waking up and falling asleep). As a result, the circadian rhythm is controlled, and the tendency to sleep increases.
Lefonin Tablet 10's should be taken without food (either 2 hours before or after food). Take Lefonin Tablet 10's as prescribed. Depending on your medical condition, you are advised to take Lefonin Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. You might experience typical side effects in certain circumstances, including dizziness, sleepiness, and headache. These adverse effects do not necessitate medical treatment and will gradually subside. However, you should consult your physician if you are experiencing these side effects regularly.
Do not consume Lefonin Tablet 10's if you are allergic to any components in Lefonin Tablet 10's; please check with your doctor if you are unsure. Consult your doctor before taking Lefonin Tablet 10's if you are pregnant. Do not take Lefonin Tablet 10's if you are breastfeeding as it passes into breast milk. It is not advised to consume alcoholic beverages while using this medication. Alcohol might disrupt sleep and perhaps increase some symptoms of jet lag (e.g., headache, morning tiredness, and concentration). It is recommended not to drive or operate any machinery as it may cause drowsiness and dizziness. Lefonin Tablet 10's is not recommended for children below 18 years as the safety and effectiveness are unknown. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and medicines to rule out potential side effects.
