Lepride Inj 2Ml

Lepride Inj 2Ml belongs to a group of medicines called 'prokinetics and antipsychotics' used to treat gastrointestinal problems like dyspepsia (indigestion), nausea, vomiting and diabetic gastro-paresis when oral therapy is not advisable/feasible. Additionally, Lepride Inj 2Ml may also be used to treat psychosis, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, vertigo, Tourette’s syndrome, dizziness, irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn, peptic ulcers, and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD).

Lepride Inj 2Ml contains 'Levosulpiride', which enhances the contractions in the gut and stomach emptying. Thereby improves food movement through the gastrointestinal tract and treats disorders related to the stomach and intestines. Besides this, Lepride Inj 2Ml also works by interfering with the activity of dopamine in the brain, thus improving mood.

Lepride Inj 2Ml will be administered by a qualified healthcare professional; do not self-administer. In some cases, Lepride Inj 2Ml may cause side effects such as abdominal pain, drowsiness, constipation, weight gain, unusual tiredness and weakness. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Inform your doctor if you have gastrointestinal obstruction or perforation. Lepride Inj 2Ml is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Lepride Inj 2Ml may cause drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. Avoid consuming alcohol with Lepride Inj 2Ml as it could lead to increased drowsiness. Keep your doctor informed about your medications and health condition to rule out any side effects/interactions.

Do not take Lepride Inj 2Ml if you are allergic to any of its components; if you have pheochromocytoma (tumour in the adrenal glands), mania, epilepsy, pituitary gland prolactinoma (tumour of the pituitary gland), breast cancer, or porphyria (blood disorder). Inform your doctor if you have/had gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical blockage/perforations, cerebrovascular problems, heart, kidney, or liver problems. Lepride Inj 2Ml is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Lepride Inj 2Ml may cause drowsiness; therefore, caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery.

Acidity & Indigestion:

• Eat smaller meals more often.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.
• Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
• Avoid lying down immediately after eating.
• Avoid tight-fitting clothes.
• Maintain a healthy weight by regular exercising.
• Practise relaxation techniques and avoid stress by doing yoga or meditation.
• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea and soda. 
• Avoid sitting continuously as it may trigger acidity. Take a break of 5 minutes every hour by doing brisk walking or stretching.

Mood disorders: 

• Maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly.
• Regularly attend therapy sessions.
• Perform meditation and yoga.
• Follow a regular sleep pattern.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
• Learn about your condition, understand the risk factors and follow the doctor’s treatment plan.

Dyspepsia (indigestion): It is the feeling of fullness. It occurs due to slow gastric emptying. Symptoms include stomach pain, bloating, heartburn, nausea, and vomiting.

Diabetic gastroparesis: It is a diabetes-related condition that affects stomach emptying. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal bloating, poor appetite, loss of weight, and feeling full after a small meal.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition that occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (esophagus). This backflow (acid reflux) irritates the food pipe and causes heartburn. 

Irritable bowel syndrome: It is a common disorder that affects the large intestine. Symptoms include cramps, abdominal pain, bloating, gas, constipation, or diarrhea.

Schizophrenia: It is a condition in which the person may see, hear or feel things that are not there, believe things that are not true, or feel unusually suspicious or confused. Symptoms include hallucinations, delusions, thought disorders, movement disorders, disorganized thinking, loss of interest, lack of emotions, etc. 

Psychosis: It is a mental disorder in which there is a loss of contact with reality. Symptoms include hallucinations, agitation, delusions, and talking incoherently.

Tourette's syndrome: It is a nervous disorder involving repetitive movements or unwanted sounds.
